I’m Lucia Wille, and I’m passionate about cooking and eating while bringing the family along for my culinary adventures. First and foremost, my food has to be appealing to the discerning pallets of my two elementary school age children (he-hem), and filling enough for an active lifestyle. Beyond that, my guiding principles when it comes to cooking are summed up fairly well in Good Calories, Bad Calories by Gary Taubes and Michael Pollan’s In Defense of Food. That means we eat whole grains, mainly vegetarian, and avoid refined carbohydrates if possible. When I do use sugar, I aim for a final product with just enough sweetness to satisfy.
I have a background in biology, and a general interest in the science and history of what we eat. In addition, I’ve worked as a cook at several different restaurants including The Trellis in Williamsburg Virginia and Sel de la Terre, a now closed sister restaurant of l’Espalier, in in Boston’s Back Bay.
Thank you for visiting, I hope you stay for a while, find something that inspires you to cook, and visit again soon.
I post once a week, on Tuesday.
